On October 26, 2026, Gateway to Innovation (G2i) welcomed the School District of Pickens County Board of Trustees for a special dedication recognizing their visionary leadership and commitment to expanding Career and Technical Education opportunities for students.
As part of the dedication, a plaque was installed in the lobby of Gateway to Innovation honoring the Board of Trustees for their vision, leadership, and support in bringing this innovative educational facility to life.
Gateway to Innovation represents the district's commitment to Visionary, Future-Focused Innovation by providing students with meaningful opportunities to explore career pathways, discover new interests, and develop valuable skills through hands-on learning experiences.
With construction nearing completion, G2i is preparing to welcome its first students in January 2027. The facility's soft opening during the second semester will include visits from school groups, introducing students to career possibilities and the innovative learning opportunities available at G2i. A grand opening celebration will follow, providing the community with an opportunity to tour the completed facility.
